Age spots, acne scarring, discolored areas, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, can be improved with a chemical peel. Chemical peels can vary in depth from: light, moderate, and deep. Chemical peels can be used on the skin of the face, neck, chest, abdomen, or hands.
With this procedure, a substance called trichloracetic acid (TCA) is applied to the skin. Topical numbing will be applied pre-procedure to ease any possible discomfort.
There are two peel strengths are available, 20% TCA and 35% TCA. Our medical esthetician will conduct a thorough skin evaluation and create a customized treatment plan based on your skin care needs.
You can expect peeling to occur within one day after treatment and up to 4-6 weeks post treatment depending on the depth and strength of your chemical peel.
As with any skin care treatment your skin will be more sensitive to the sun after treatment. It is important to use a SPF broad spectrum sunscreen to avoid damage from sunburn and areas of hyperpigmentation. Our esthetician has several pharmaceutical grade sunscreen options available. A quality, individualized skin care regimen that is developed with the esthetician will enhance your results.
As with any cosmetic medical procedure, results vary from patient to patient.
