Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy, is a treatment performed with an instrument called Rejuvapen. A series of treatment is recommended for optimal results. Microneedling stimulates the body to produce fresh, new collagen. This technique can help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and even acne scarring.
Rejuvapen is a medical-grade, state of the art precision device that works by creating thousands of invisible perforations in your skin. Each perforation stimulates the body’s natural healing response to increase collagen and elastin production. The results are firmer, smoother, and tighter skin.
Microneedling can be used anywhere on your body. Treating your face, neck and chest can take about 60 minutes. A numbing cream can be used to help with any discomfort.
Three to four treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for the best results. Deeper lines, wrinkles, and scars may require additional treatments.
After your treatment, your skin may appear sunburned for about 24-48 hours with tenderness and possible swelling. Skin takes time to synthesize new collagen and elastin. Results may be noticeable even after your first treatment. Results may continue to improve 6-12 months after your final treatment.
The medical esthetician will do a thorough consultation to determine if Rejuvapen is the best treatment for you and your skin care needs.
As with any skin care treatment your skin will be more sensitive to the sun after treatment. It is important to use a SPF broad spectrum sunscreen to avoid damage from sunburn and areas of hyperpigmentation. Our esthetician has several pharmaceutical grade sunscreen options available. A quality, individualized skin care regimen that is developed with the esthetician will enhance your results.
As with any cosmetic medical procedure, results vary from patient to patient.
